Social worker
He/She - His/her
As a trained social worker and a member of the Ordre des travailleurs sociaux et des thérapeutes conjugaux et familiaux du Québec, I support individuals, families, couples and polyamorous groups through complex relationship dynamics, conflicts and periods of transition.
The people I support often wish to rediscover a sense of connection with themselves and their loved ones, to better understand their relationships and to develop bonds that are more in line with who they are. I am myself a member of the 2ELGBTQIA+ community, and this experience informs a practice that is sensitive to the realities and challenges faced by people in the community; anti-oppressive, trans-affirmative and neuro-affirmative approaches are at the heart of my practice, viewed through an intersectional lens.
I believe it is important to create a space where you can feel free to be yourself. I therefore favour a supportive approach that is calm, active and practical, and which adapts to your needs. It is important to me to recognize your expertise regarding your own life experiences.
My current experience in palliative care has given me a particular sensitivity to the many relational changes that accompany times of great upheaval. My previous work with parents and young people has fuelled my interest in different family dynamics and the challenges that can arise in the parent-child relationship. I also have a particular interest in the impact of attachment styles on the experiences of individuals in monogamous or polyamorous relationships.
Whether through individual, couples’, polyamorous or family counselling, I can support you in:
Restoring healthier and more fulfilling communication within your relationships;
Understanding and better expressing your emotions;
Reconnecting with your loved ones in a way that is true to who you are;
Discussing agreements, boundaries and needs within your relationships;
Navigate issues of jealousy, insecurity or trust;
Support a transition to parenthood or address co-parenting issues;
Support the parent-child relationship;
Cope with a separation or a reorganization of commitment within a relationship;
Cope with bereavement, illness or a major upheaval.
My main approaches are: Systemic, Structural, Attachment Theory, Gottman, Emotion-Focused
