What is family psychosocial intervention?

Family intervention is a form of support designed to help families resolve relational difficulties, manage conflicts and improve family dynamics. It focuses on the interaction between family members, and aims to strengthen their bonds and communication.

Some of the facets of family intervention include:

The work carried out aims to understand family dynamics and find solutions adapted to the needs of each family. The social worker is committed to welcoming you with humanity, without judgment, and with the utmost respect for your individuality.

  • Conflicts between parents and children;

  • Conflicts between brothers and sisters;

  • Adaptation challenges related to diagnoses linked to neurodivergence (autism, ADHD, Tourette's, etc.);

First appointment (up to two or three as needed): family assessment

This is the process during which we will discuss the different perspectives of each family member, your relationships, and the strengths and challenges of your family dynamics. The social worker will observe family interactions and analyze the various factors influencing your situation.

Appointment(s) following the family assessment: the intervention plan

Following the assessment, the social worker will present his or her understanding of the family's situation and suggest possible courses of action. Together, you'll discuss the goals you'd like to achieve and develop an action plan tailored to your needs.

Following appointments

Follow-up appointments will enable us to implement the intervention plan, work on the objectives set and adjust strategies as needed. The social worker will accompany the family through this process, offering ongoing support in a climate of trust and respect.
